In the archaic Greek Epic that shape within the oral culture, we can find a characteristic way in which the ancients perceive the surrounding reality and code it in their works. This is especially noticeable when we examine the expression of the time category, which can not be considered only as a linear or cyclical phenomenon, but is closely related to the concept of space, and this connection is already at the level of a more general concept. This concept can be seen primarily in the residual solar myth, where the sun naturally takes an active part in the creation of time, for example in the epic narrative it is typical to countdown of days by sunrises; furthermore the sun appearing in a certain position in the sky determines the activity and work of mortal people. The aim of the speech is to show that archaic societies in the Indo-European language group have combined these two categories, creating a coherent system that, woven into the construction of the work, affect its narrative. This will be demonstrated on the material of the oldest Indo-European language monuments, which are The Rigvedic Hymns and Homer's epics, where the key phrases will be analyzed, such as the Greek phrase βουλυτόνδε, meaning the time and place of detaching oxen and the Vedic formula urviyā vi bhāti to describe the ,,wide spread” sunshine, linguistically identical with the Greek deity, Euryfaessa.
